What Is Carbon Dioxide (CO2) Laser Skin Resurfacing?
This technology uses ablative lasers to carefully eliminate outer layers of the skin without damaging it with excessive heat. A CO2 laser treatment can create flawless skin by improving texture, tone, and age-related blemishes as well as softening fine lines.
What is CO2 Resurfacing?
CO2 Resurfacing is a laser treatment to improve skin texture and color and makes the skin smoother and tighter. The new “fractional” laser creates microscopic channels in the skin. These treated areas are surrounded by areas of healthy untreated skin. The untreated skin helps to “speed up” the body’s natural healing process resulting in faster recovery time. The treated areas stimulate the production of new collagen. The new collagen plumps up the skin and helps soften, or smooth out, wrinkles, lines, scars and other imperfections. The fractional laser can be used for light, mid or deep treatments. The laser can be adjusted to make the treated skin (channels) very close together and deep, or more spaced apart and more superficial. Fractional laser can be customized to treat different areas of the skin at different levels during one treatment.
Whether or not you are a good candidate for fractional laser treatment will be determined during your initial consultation. Your specific concerns will be addressed and detailed information about the treatment, and what to do and expect after the treatment will also be provided. I will work with you to plan the laser treatment that is best for you.
